State Line, Idaho — Town Named for the Thing Everyone Crosses

State Line sits exactly where Interstate 90 enters Idaho from Washington.

That location gave a small community a remarkably large audience. Freight trucks, commuters and travelers pass through constantly, while highway businesses serve traffic moving between Spokane Valley and Post Falls.

Regional growth has made the economic border increasingly porous. People live on one side, work on the other and cross the line during ordinary errands without thinking of it as interstate travel.
