Huetter, Idaho — Small City in the Middle of a Growth Corridor

Huetter occupies a compact municipal footprint between Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls near Interstate 90.

What was once rural Rathdrum Prairie ground is now surrounded by industrial, commercial and residential development. Through that transformation, Huetter retained its own incorporated government and city boundary.

Its size makes the city easy to overlook from the highway but important on planning maps. Roads, utilities, annexations and development projects all have to account for a municipality embedded inside one of northern Idaho's busiest growth corridors.

Huetter's distinction is not that it is small. It is that a city of this scale has remained institutionally distinct while the metropolitan landscape grew around it.
